| Our American experience was fantastic and of great musical and human utility.
Friday the 28th, we played in Manhattan, as we arrived in Newark Airport, we got a cab, raced to the Netherlands Club and started playing with Saskia Laroo, Kiwiet de Jonge and Vicki Doney (it was great, they want us there in 2007). The same night (with a gigantic jetlag) we went to Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania.
On Saturday we rehearsed with the American musicians for the upcoming concerts on Wednesday and Friday; and of course we played the tourists. On Sunday we went to a concert of a local Christian folk-pop band, we fell in love with the music; we also got to rehearse again.
On Monday the 1st of May, we went to New York City (Manhattan), where we enjoyed watching a gig of our vocalist, Vicki Doney, together with the Howard Williams big-band. Afterwards we went to a club across the street, where we watched Mike Stern/Richard Bona/Lionel Cordew playing. Great stuff! On Wednesday we explored Pen Argyl some more and we played the gig at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn, in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, performing several “Stepping Stones” tunes and some Brazilian stuff (www.tomane.tk). We had many enthusiastic compliments. On that night we went to a farm of friends of ours, which is on the forest of Delaware, where one has to drive pretty slowly, for the deer can unexpectedly cross the road; we saw quite a few of them.
