|The Van Nelle Ontwerpfabriek is an imposing building with international appeal. It is of inestimable cultural and historical value, having the status of a nationally protected monument and being included on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
From the outside the building is monumental, but inside it is innovative and modern. It was designed by the architects Van der Vlugt and Brinkman and built between 1925 and 1931. It was designed around the concepts of light, air and space, inspired by the 'new building' philosophy of the past.
